"We gladly feast on those who would subdue us."
I have a new book! It is called THE SUMMER IS ENDED AND WE ARE NOT YET SAVED. Here is the synopsis:
Martin is going to Bible Camp for the summer. He's going to learn archery and swimming, and he's going to make new friends. He's pretty excited, but that's probably because nobody told him that this is a horror novel!
And this is what Booklist said in their review:
Lean and mean and hugely entertaining, with no high-falutin’ literary pretenses—note to fans of slasher flicks: yes, the villain is exactly who you think it is—but with a genuinely shocking conclusion, the book should be a big hit with old-school horror fans. - Booklist
I am very excited that this book is coming out! You can buy it here.
Society in Decline:Intrastate Commerce - yet more evidence that the USA (in general) has done a better job holding on to great midcentury signage. Year 2008 in Photographs - the Boston Globe's The Big Picture has a three-part best of series, this is part one. Foodpairing - teaches you how to combine your foods in new ways, AND it has suggestions for substitutions. The Selby - beautiful photographs of beautiful people in their beautiful homes. Like the best decor magazine you've ever seen without all the ads for flooring. Früli - the fruitiest beer I've ever drunk. Free Rice - show off your vocabulary AND feed people. Corey Arnold - the coldest, loveliest photos you'll ever see. Ali Bosworth - a photographer who lived in Victoria when I was there. Maybe the opposite of the above shots, Bosworth's tend to be warm and drowsy.
