Some good pals of ours are going to be signing comic books and playing arcade games in Easthampton this weekend. If you like books or games (UNLIKELY, huh?) you could maybe go?

I've started posting about the horror movies I watch. I don't think there's something worth talking about with every movie, and I'm trying to avoid just rehashing the plot and saying whether I liked it or not. But I have entries about how Johnny Depp is a bimbo in Nightmare on Elm Street, or the great design work in Thirteen Ghosts and about the role of screaming in horror movies like REC. The newest entry is about the rape scene in Hills Have Eyes(2006). It's a difficult thing to talk about, but it comes up so often in horror movies that it is something that should be talked about.

I also added a link on the side asking people to consider donating money to the Toronto Assaulted Women's Helpline. This blog is an effort to think critically about the movies I love. Horror movies often have some serious flaws, especially regarding the treatment of women.
