I've started posting about the horror movies I watch. I don't think there's something worth talking about with every movie, and I'm trying to avoid just rehashing the plot and saying whether I liked it or not. But I have entries about how Johnny Depp is a bimbo in Nightmare on Elm Street
, or the great design work in Thirteen Ghosts
and about the role of screaming in horror movies like REC
. The newest entry is about the rape scene in Hills Have Eyes(2006)
. It's a difficult thing to talk about, but it comes up so often in horror movies that it is something that should be talked about.

. This blog is an effort to think critically about the movies I love. Horror movies often have some serious flaws, especially regarding the treatment of women.
