I was really excited to see Alex Balk in The Awl last Friday, recommending that everyone see Local Hero, a movie which is likely my favourite above all others. I did, after all, watch it twice while living in Scotland last year... Balk was linking to a short musing on the film and the nostalgia of travel, which I'd recommend reading even if you insist - like a FOOL - on not seeing the movie itself.

I wrote the gayest book you will ever read. It's called The Complete Lockpick Pornography, and it is two books about dealing with homophobia and violence in two very different ways. In We All Got it Coming, the main character approaches it trying not to give in to anger, trying to understand his attacker. In Lockpick Pornography, the main characters approach homophobia the other way. The other way essentially being genderqueer terrorism. I hope you like it!
